A simple act of gratitude can go a long way. Has someone ever thanked you for something, or shown any form of appreciation for your actions or existence? That feeling you receive is from the energy given off by the act of gratitude. Gratitude journals help replicate this feeling, and this feeling is created by you. Here are a few benefits from gratitude journals that can help you.

1. Self-confidence

Living in gratitude can start with a gratitude journal. Listing, and/or describing, what you are grateful to have can lead you to acknowledge all that you are. Make the activity of writing in your gratitude journal a habit and you’ll find it far easier to dismiss your self-doubts, and remind yourself of all the reasons you have to be confident instead.

2. Discover What Makes You Happy

How can you find joy, if you don’t know what makes you happy? There’s no need to define everything in your life, unless you see reason to, but it’s good to understand its purpose. A gratitude journal helps you identify what brings you joy. You may discover it is the goals you accomplished, or the people you are around. Once you find your journaling pattern, seek out those joys that keep you going.

3. Create Better Habits

Once you welcome the gratitude journal into your life routine (however that looks like for you), you will then cultivate another healthy habit in your lifestyle. Adding healthy, positive routines will start a chain reaction for other healthy routines, as well as help you identify not so helpful ones. Find your reason for gratitude, and see how you flourish.
